the estate
A day can easily slip by without the need to leave the estate of 3.3
hectares, all with commanding views over Owhanake Bay.
Our philosophy is to maintain the character and beauty of Waiheke Island on our property
while producing wine, olive oil, fruit and vegetables - all in a
sustainable way.
The estate includes a boutique vineyard, an olive grove, a small citrus and stone
fruit orchard, berry gardens, vegetable gardens and flower gardens. We
use fresh organic produce from our gardens in the guest rooms and for
guest breakfasts. We also use flowers from the garden and roses from the
vineyard in our guest rooms.
We delight in giving guests private tours of our vineyard. The vineyard
comprises mostly Syrah vines, along with 1000 Pinot Gris and Flora
vines. Our focus is on growing the best possible grapes to produce high
quality wines unique to this special location.
It is, of course, just a short stroll to the beach below the estate and
there are some beautiful short coastal walks which start at Owhanake Bay.
Most of the time the only two sounds here are the bird songs and waves on the beach.
